Live Music – Channing

Channing’s musical foundation was classical— clarinet in hand from age 10. But the real adventure began when she left it all behind: one person, one bicycle, a handful of dollars, and the open road to Key West. After shedding materialistic ties and seeking emotional freedom, she met a sailor who changed everything—teaching her to sail, sing, and play banjo and guitar on the open sea. Adding saxophone and flute to her arsenal, the Caribbean became her stage as bass player in a spirited fiddle band. Eventually, Florida State
University called for music therapy studies as she in now a certified Music Therapist. Today, Channing’s home is Key West, steeped in
vintage jazz (1920’s, 30’s, and 40’s) and crafting original music distilled from classical roots and every mile, port, and note along the
way.
