The Conch Republic Independence Celebration returns in 2027 with ten days dedicated to the wonderfully unconventional spirit of Key West. Expect colorful parades down Duval Street, pirates, conch shell salutes, live music, waterfront parties, bed races, sailing events, and the legendary reenactment of the Great Sea Battle in Key West Harbor.
Born from Key West’s tongue-in-cheek secession from the United States in 1982, the celebration has become one of the island’s most beloved traditions and an invitation to experience the humor, history, and independent spirit that make Key West unlike anywhere else.
